Have you been noticing piles of dirt suddenly appearing in your front lawn? What about raised lines in your lawn that seem to construct a network of underground tunnels?
If either of these situations sound familiar, you may have a mole problem.
Though there are two species of moles found in Minnesota, the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area is most affected by the Eastern mole.
Moles largely live underground in their tunnel systems searching for their various food sources – earthworms, grubs, and various other insects. As they search for food near your lawn’s surface, they often destroy the grass and other plants’ roots as they continue to dig forward. Our technicians are extremely well-versed in mole trapping and can help solve your mole issue.
Our mole trapping is done seasonally, as old tunnels can and will be re-inhabited by new moles over the years. Mole page in progress has details.
Essentially, we place traps over all the holes, and hide them, then stake down a bucket so dogs, children and lawn mowers don’t hit them. We come out (frequency i forget, Matt knows), reset traps and pull catches. Once the infestation is under control, for the rest of the year and subsequent years, we come out every (frequency matt?) to monitor the traps and catch new moles before they do further damage/create more tunnels and holes.
Line item for mole inspection:
Inspection of yard, survey of damage, identification of areas of intrusion and contributing environmental factors, and creation of an integrated Mole Management Plan. Plans are designed to eliminate your current mole population and provide ongoing yard inspection and trap maintenance/placement to prevent new damage. Inspection fee is good towards a Mole Management Plan or a Mole Abatement.
Ongoing control line item:
Inspection of yard, survey of damage, identification of areas of intrusion, identification of contributing environmental factors, and creation of an integrated Mole Management Plan. Plans are designed to eliminate your current mole population and provide ongoing yard inspection and trap maintenance/placement to stay ahead of new damage.
Wildlife technicians will come out twice a week for the first two weeks of the program, and once a week thereafter. They will inspect your yard for new damage, identify new activity, and install or empty and reset traps as needed. Care will be taken to ensure monitoring devices remain safely placed and any new areas of concern are identified before a larger problem develops.
Duration: 1 month per unit billed
