Bats love living behind shutters because there’s not a lot of wind movement, the temperature is good and they can hunker down for the long haul and feel protected from the elements. Not a bad deal when you’re a bat, right? If you’re dealing with bats living behind your shutters, you can bat proof them by excluding them with aesthetically appealing materials. You can also try to increase the space between the wall and the shutter so there’s more air movement. This will make the area less desirable for bats. Finally, if all else fails, you can remove the shutters entirely.
