Female raccoons will often have 3-5 young present with them over the spring and summer months, but have been known to have as many as 12. A female raccoon with young will not have any males present, due to possible predation, but occasionally will allow another adult female to reside at the den site. In non-nursing raccoon populations, we have observed multiple raccoons visiting the same property for denning purposes or to exploit an established food source.ย ย ย
