Keeping a promise reaps a lot of rewards, especially in business. Every day, we are saturated with many advertising materials, marketing structures, and other promotional tactics from different companies. This drives us to know more about various products. These advertisements hit us whenever we are looking for them, like typing on a Google search, asking your friend over a private chat, or casually scrolling through social media. Whenever we read those ads, we ensure they are the most tailor-made to what we need. Most of these ads show a list of points, like a proposition, to make you purchase their product or avail of their services. They make these promises, and we always expect that they will keep them.
For Mountain Duct Cleaning, keeping a promise fuels them. In reality, they don’t promise anything at all. They just do what they do with 20 years of experience and different accolades on their backs. Surely, they are the most trustworthy company to look out for when it comes to air duct cleaning services in Minnesota. In this article, we sat down with their owner, Matt Mountain, to dig in deeper and learn the inner workings that have led to their business’s success.
Getting to Know Mountain Duct Cleaning
Mountain Duct Cleaning is a second-generation family-owned company. The business started doing duct cleaning services in 1998, and they’ve been in the industry for over 25 years. They provide HVAC cleaning and restoration services, which involve cleaning the heating and air ductwork. Mountain Duct deals with air handling units, filtration, coils, blower wheels, and all other components of an HVAC system. They service residential and commercial customers and aim to ensure healthier, cleaner indoor air for both homes and businesses. A significant aspect of their business is dryer vent cleaning, and they do work for large-scale apartments, condo buildings, homeowners associations, senior living facilities, and other similar establishments.
Going Through Mountain Duct’s Customer Journey
Duct Cleaning Services is a niche business, and it takes effort to communicate its services to the right target audience properly. That is why it is essential to understand the customers’ needs and bring them to the proper process to satisfy them more. For Mountain Duct, when they get contacted by a customer, whether through the phone or digital platforms, they first get a sense of what the need is. If it’s just general cleaning, which is considered maintenance, it’s as easy as just having an appointment scheduled, and then a maintenance person comes to your property
right away. However, if any specific issues need to be addressed, an investigation by Mountain Duct’s team will be conducted to determine any underlying causes. In this, the team schedules a phone call with the client for a free consultation, and a quick visit will be made to take photos and see what might be going on with any particular problem the client is dealing with. At that point, it’s a matter of determining the proper scope of work, what steps must be taken, and moving on to the scheduling.
Creating a Healthier Indoor Environment
One of the many benefits of cleaning and maintaining HVAC and duct systems is removing contaminants so they do not continuously cycle in the indoor air. Another benefit is that it helps the system run more efficiently because there’s less buildup on the HVAC system’s components, which means that it can operate as it was originally designed.
Mountain Duct offers other services, including duct ceilings, wherein they inspect all the duct work from inside or outside any property to help eliminate air leakage. This helps ensure that the air gets to the spots of the property that it’s intended to be and does not leak out into the walls and ceilings. This kind of preventative maintenance helps save energy costs a lot.
There’s a lot of misinformation in the duct cleaning industry. One of these is what some duct cleaning companies call “sanitizers,” wherein they put chemicals inside duct systems that aren’t really that necessary. However, Mountain Duct Cleaning assures that their services only offer services that aren’t harmful to the environment and ensures that to complete any job that requires no use of any toxic chemicals.
The Customers
One of Mountain Duct’s largest customer bases consists of homeowners and families who want to maintain the sanitation and cleanliness of their homes. Matt said, “Maintaining the systems within their home is an important aspect for them. And living in a cleaner and healthier environment is important to them as well.”
On the other hand, Mountain Duct certainly works with commercial clients. One of their biggest markets is senior housing communities, where they go in and help them with regular maintenance on their dryer vents and cleaning needs to ensure that the facilities are healthy and to keep their systems running efficiently. Moreover, they also cater to businesses like establishments and office buildings to provide clean and healthy environments for their employees and customers who are coming into their locations.
Knowing the Company Culture
Matt describes Mountain Duct Cleaning as a “close-knit” company wherein most of their technicians come and stay with them for the long term. “We don’t have a revolving door of new employees every six months, every year. I think the shortest tenured employee we have right now is four years, so we do that by empowering our employees to learn the trade and apply that trade in the field to be knowledgeable in our industry,” Matt said.
He also added that Mountain Duct provides monthly special training to employees to increase their education and knowledge base in the industry. They also give their employees extra free time when they need it and support anything that makes their employees happy outside of work—whether it’s taking a couple of extra days to go on vacation, visit a national park, or take off early from work. They encourage employees to enjoy their freedom despite having an expected time to render work.
Mountain Duct also highlights a culture of not hiring temporary employees or subcontractors to provide their services, which helps them avoid complications. This method also assures that all their employees are covered by insurance and different company benefits.
Wrapping It Up
Keeping a promise is commitment, and Mountain Duct Cleaning always keeps its promise. They are passionate about keeping every property owner’s indoor environment healthy. Based on what they have done with their clients so far, we can highly recommend their business to someone who wants to do maintenance for the services that Mountain Duct Cleaning provides, which we’ve mentioned in this blog. The work culture they’ve built around their company results in a high quality of service, which any possible client will never regret. Nowadays, it’s sad that we can no longer breathe the same air that our ancestors used to have many decades ago, but with the right technology, we can still ensure healthy homes with cleaner air so we can live longer and happier lives.
