Matt Eickman, President of second generation pest and wildlife control company Abra Kadabra Environmental Services, is proud to be a Platinum Sponsor for the second annual Surfside Bar and Grill Charity Golf Event. Proceeds benefit the Mound Volunteer Fire Department Relief Association.
Volunteer firefighters are unpaid community heroes. They are on call for extended periods, risking their safety to assist their communities. They respond to fires, accidents and EMS calls, as well as holding community safety and education events.
The Mound Fire Department raises money for its lifesaving gear, tools and equipment and pension predominantly through its annual Fish Fry. Each June the community comes together for the event, which raises an estimated $10,000-15,000. The event has been cancelled for two consecutive summers due to COVID-19 restrictions, leaving a significant gap in fundraising compared to prior years. Last year’s charity golf event was able to raise $17,000, and organizers are hopeful that this year’s event could top that figure.
The charity golf event will take place Thursday June 25, 2021 at the Timber Creek Golf Course in Watertown, MN. Abra Kadabra has a team entered in the tournament, and Eickman is looking forward to watching them compete. The Abra Kadabra team will also have a tent located on one of the tee boxes. Please direct any donations for the tournament to the Mound Volunteer Fire Department Relief Association.
