As the year ends, we sat down with our CEO, Matthew Eickman, to conduct a year-in-review for 2024 and envision the future for Abra Kadabra Pest & Wildlife in 2025.
It’s been an incredible year for the business. Abra Kadabra has not only proved itself in the Pest & Wildlife industry again, but it went beyond bounds with the success of its community-based initiatives and creative endeavors (Momma-sota and Homegrown Hustle).
2024 is the year for Abra Kadabra to cement its position as a Market Leader in the Pest & Wildlife Industry, and it has been proven many times throughout the year. That said, Abra Kadabra is mostly grateful to all its team members, business partners, and, most importantly, its customers for making everything happen. Magic might happen in a snap, but behind it, a lot of alchemy is going on to make the impossible possible. The magic is about growth, leadership, and unwavering commitment to serving the community.
In this annual recap, we want to highlight the best moments throughout the year that made the magic happen.
Leadership + Culture = Growth
In 2024, the sole focus of Abra Kadabra is continuing its belief in fostering leadership with its team. Leadership has always been the core foundation of Abra Kadabra, and it is believed that it has fueled smooth operations, growth, and great relationships within the team. The leadership in the business has always been in open-door communication, and every team member gets the chance to showcase their leadership skills.
The year has shaped a lot of team members to come off their shells with back-to-back promotions and recognitions, including having the Wizard of the Month, which recognizes each employee who has done an excellent job for the month. Every leader stepped up, taking on challenges with determination and setting a standard of excellence.
Abra Kadabra exceeded its goals through everybody’s dedication and maintained consistent growth throughout the year.
This commitment to leadership wasn’t just about hitting numbers—it was about creating a culture of mutual support, personal growth, and empowerment. Many of Abra Kadabra’s team members achieved significant milestones, from purchasing new homes to upgrading vehicles, showing how work success translates to meaningful life changes.
Breaking Records in 2024
January through March brought unique challenges and opportunities. A lighter winter allowed Abra Kadabra to achieve incredible work across all service areas, setting the tone for a year of sustained growth. “The cold weather didn’t slow us down—instead, it propelled us to innovate and expand our offerings,” Matt said.
“One of the highlights early in the year was our focus on networking and commercial outreach. By strengthening partnerships within the local business community, we significantly increased our footprint in the commercial pest control space, reinforcing our position as a market leader.”
Building Communities to Create Impact
Abra Kadabra isn’t just about pest control—it’s about giving back to the community. This year, it doubled its numbers on podcast initiatives, creating content that educates and inspires. “While the journey had its hurdles, we learned and adapted, producing impactful episodes that resonated with our audience,” Matt expressed as the host of Homegrown Hustle.
The feedback from the listeners of Homegrown Hustle has been overwhelmingly positive, and the team is excited to set even higher goals for 2025. These podcasts have become a vital platform for sharing insights, fostering community engagement, and showcasing the values that amplify Abra Kadabra’s mission of supporting local businesses in the community.
On the business side, Abra Kadabra’s standout achievement this year was the growth of its insulation services. “Recognizing a massive need within our community, we expanded this offering to help homeowners improve energy efficiency,” according to Matt.
This effort aligned perfectly with the business’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The service has helped reduce energy costs for families.
In addition, Abra Kadabra has also increased its support for commercial sustainability initiatives through its insulation work, which everyone on the team is proud of since it plays a role in creating greener, more efficient spaces for its customers.
Celebrating New Success
In September, Abra Kadabra launched AbraKadabros, a new content pillar that features the three brothers: Matt, Andy, and Phil. AbraKadabros highlights the importance of family and how the three brothers work together to build the business.
Abra Kadabra celebrates achievements big and small, from career growth to personal victories. For Matt, Abra Kadabra’s leader, this success is deeply tied to the support of his wife, his parents, and the values instilled in him through his upbringing.

- Team Growth: 8 additional members for the US team and 6 for the Philippines team

Looking Ahead to 2025
In hindsight, all of Abra Kadabra’s success equals its genuine concern for the community. It’s always been about how the business can help people and provide the peace of mind they’re looking for in their homes and businesses.
