Last year, Abra Kadabra launched the Employee Spotlight series, which features the great team members of the business. As Matt, our CEO, says, “Our employees are an integral part of our success.” For many years, Abra Kadabra grew and became the state’s most trusted service provider for pest and wildlife control. It continues to reach greater heights by solidifying each aspect of the business. One of its strategies is to create a diverse and inclusive workspace where team members can enjoy their jobs and become more passionate about them.
This year opens up new possibilities, milestones to hit, and much space to improve. To start the new year on a high note, we feature one of Abra Kadabra’s pride. Despite just joining the team last year, Micah has climbed up the corporate ladder and become the best leader the business could have. Micah celebrated his first year with the company a few days ago.
In 2024, Micah was recognized for his unique sense of leadership, which echoed among his fellow team members. He’s been crowned as Wizard of the Month.
Micah is indeed the missing and vital piece that completes the puzzle of Abra Kadabra. His passion for revenue growth and peak customer service helped the business climb even further on greater possibilities. But behind a success-oriented and promising man lies a simple human being who had a colorful, picturesque journey, we’d like to call it. Get to know the story of Micah Munts, our Call Center manager at Abra Kadabra.
Micah’s Journey to Abra Kadabra
Micah joined Abra Kadabra Environmental Services in January 2024. Since then, he’s brought a lot of potential to every employee he has worked with, including the team members he trains in the on-site office and the remote team members from the Philippines.
But having the sense of leadership that he has now, Micah has been working to become the best version of himself and be a good fellow to others. He didn’t take the easy road, and he had a lot of opportunities to explore the world and find what he truly wanted.
There are many facets behind Micah’s personality, and Abra Kadabra is happy to hear a lot of unheard stories and fun facts from him. Micah finished college with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Digital Cinema, and he initially focused on directing and managing film productions.
Over the years, Micah transitioned from the creative field to customer service, seeking stability and discovering a passion for connecting with people. But on a deeper level, Micah is still the creative that he is. Outside of work, he’s been dabbling into a lot about the arts and applying the skills he’s learned in the creative world to his job, which we will uncover in the latter part of the article.
Micah was always on the quest, seeking for stability. He started as a high school yearbook photographer, where he discovered his love for capturing moments. This passion blossomed into a professional photography and videography career, where he honed his artistic skills.
Later, he expanded his expertise by managing production processes, including running an in-house printing shop. Despite his success in the creative field, the unpredictability of freelance work led Micah to explore more stable opportunities, eventually bringing him to customer service and leadership roles.
Before joining Abra Kadabra, Micah worked in various roles, including selling insurance at State Farm. This experience helped him refine his interpersonal skills and deepen his understanding of customer needs. Each role added a new layer to Micah’s professional repertoire, preparing him for his current position as Call Center Manager.
Now, he’s in the job he loves the most and is passionate about. His exposure to the arts makes him more interesting, and his experience gives him a lot of stories to tell, which makes it easier for him to build rapport with people from different backgrounds. His creativity gives him the high potential to develop and experiment with other processes that can drive business growth.
A Day in the Life of Micah
Before we dive into Micah’s life outside of work, let’s take a virtual tour of what he does in a day. At Abra Kadabra, every day is different. However, each role has recurring tasks that they refine daily.
To illustrate that, here’s a glimpse of what Micah does daily.
Micah’s responsibilities are as dynamic as his background. From leading team meetings and role-playing customer interactions to analyzing data and coordinating with subcontractors, he ensures the call center runs like a well-oiled machine. His mornings typically begin with aligning his team through meetings focusing on sales strategies and customer service excellence.
“I’m driven by the potential I see in my team and the leadership at Abra Kadabra,” Micah shares. “It’s refreshing to be part of a company that believes in its team members and empowers them to succeed.”
Micah’s analytical side shines as he reviews key performance metrics daily. He uses this data to identify areas of improvement, implement changes, and drive results. Beyond numbers, Micah spends significant time communicating with customers, managing schedules, and ensuring smooth coordination between team members and subcontractors. He also handles critical backend tasks such as processing wildlife-related paperwork and cataloging materials, ensuring all operations run seamlessly.
Micah is someone you can quickly look up to. His work ethic inspires his team members, making them a better team.
Beyond the Desk: Life Outside Work
Outside of work, Micah is a man of many talents and passions. He calls himself an introvert and finds solace in creative pursuits like writing short stories, hiking, and photography. As a former professional photographer, Micah still enjoys capturing moments through the lens, blending his artistic sensibilities with his love of nature.
When he’s not outdoors, you can find Micah immersed in fantasy and science fiction novels. He’s a fan of series like Red Rising and The Stormlight Archive and often writes his own fictional tales—a personal outlet he likens to a private journal.
“Writing helps me process my thoughts and ideas,” Micah explains. “Sometimes, I revisit my old stories and laugh at how far I’ve come. It’s a way for me to reflect and grow.”
Micah also enjoys video games, spending time with his wife, and caring for their adorable dachshund puppy, Kaladin. Named after a beloved character from a favorite book series, Kalidan is a lively addition to their home and a constant source of joy.

Micah’s Leadership Philosophy
Leadership will always be at Abra Kadabra’s core, and the business is steering away from the traditional work hierarchy where everyone gets to hone their leadership skills on a personal, more profound level.
Micah describes his leadership style as rooted in empathy and connection. He is proud to say that his ability to connect with each team member personally helps him understand their unique motivations and communication styles. He believes that having this leadership style drives better growth that is more sustainable and helpful for each individual and the business, making it a win-win situation.
Moreover, Micah is a firm believer in having a sense of individuality.
“Everyone finds their own path in life,” Micah reflects. “It’s not a race. The key is to avoid comparing yourself to others and focus on your own growth.”
One of Micah’s go-to resources for personal and professional growth is The Go-Giver by Bob Burg and John David Mann. He shared with us that this book has deeply influenced and inspired his approach to team management, which emphasizes the importance of giving and fostering a collaborative spirit.
Winning people and fostering relationships is not an easy job to do. But for Micah, the best way to start is to hone your interpersonal skills.
He believes that by mastering your people skills, many jobs can be quickly done and open many doors for better opportunities.
